Life, and ROW80

One downside to renting a house is that when the owner decides to move home, you lose yours.

So that’s what’s goin’ on with me right now. Going to be less writing and posting, and more home-finding 😦

It’s not a total loss though:

  • In writing, I made more progress with my plot and outlining
  • I got farther in Plot & Structure, by James Scott Bell, and started reading Shadow Game, by Christine Feehan. I haven’t decided what I think about SG yet; it has an excellent premise, and I’m liking the characters so far, I’m just not sure about all of the POV hopping. Has anyone else read this book?
  • Still going strong on the exercising. I had to miss one night for my daughter’s Open House, but that’s excusable πŸ˜›

So talk to me. For my writing pals, how are your goals coming along? Are you in ROW80, and if so, how’s that goin’ so far? For my non-writing buddies, what goals have you set for yourself and how are you making progress?

  1. Good luck on the house search. It took us a while to find one we liked and could afford but it showed up in the nick of time. Yours will too. I ordered my copy of Bell’s Plot and Structure. Should come this week. I’m excited.

  2. Wow, Kate that is quite the ripple and yes, all kid events are absolutely excusable – we can write anytime, but we can only go to their events once.

All the best in the house search – Beir bua agus beannacht (Best wishes) for the coming week πŸ™‚

    1. It’s been a challenging few weeks, Gene, I won’t lie. I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. So far I’ve had two fairly substantial upsets, and these things (good and bad) usually come in threes. I’ll have to do extra at the gym so I’m conditioned for the next challenge πŸ˜› Mar sin leat fhΓ©in, laochan! (same to you, friend! πŸ™‚ )

  3. Oh Kate, moving is a large item to add to your list! You’ll get through it though in fine fashion, I know you will. Great fun to meet you *in person* in Jenny’s webinar today!

    1. Thank you so much for your support, Patricia! It was really great *meeting* you too! Jenny’s webinar class was fantastic, wasn’t it? I learned SO much and am now a much bigger fan of Triberr πŸ˜›

  4. Oh, I’m so sorry you’re going to have to move! Call or email me and let me know what area you’re looking at, in case I know anyone who knows anything that could help you. Good luck! I hate moving!

  5. I hope you find a new home soon. Sounds like you’re doing well despite the glitch in your plans.

Missing one night of exercising for your daughter’s open house is definitely excusable. (grin)

All the best with your writing and home-hunting goals.

As a ROW participant, things are going quite well. Thanks for asking.

  6. We had the “the owners were selling the house; time to move” a few times…. I don’t envy you one bit. But you seem to have a good mental handle on things… and spending time with family? Perfect! It’s what the soul needs during times of upheaval. Glad you have them close by.

    Best wishes!
